FRIENDS OF THEATRE NORTH AT THE PRINCESS

October 11 @ 3:00 pm & 7:30 pm Earl Arts Centre Earl St., Launceston  Tas.  7250 CELEBRATING A QUARTER OF A CENTURY OF LIVE PERFORMANCE AT THE EARL ARTS CENTRE. The Earl Arts Centre turns 25 in 2018! And we are celebrating. Community performing arts companies who have regularly delighted Launceston audiences with their productions at the Earl Arts Centre have been invited to be a part of a gala concert of choice titbits from their repertoire. Thrill to the triumphs of Encore Theatre Company, Just Imagine Youth Drama School, the Launceston Competitions, Launceston Musical Society, Launceston Players, Launceston Youth Theatre Ensemble and Three River Theatre Company! The Earl Arts Centre was created out of a community demand for a performance space which was more intimate than the Princess Theatre. Through community fund raising efforts and the City’s generous contribution, we now have a wonderful asset for community organisations who want to showcase local talent.

THE EXPO The inaugural 2018 Tamar Sustainable Living Expo will provide a 'one stop shop' to help northern Tasmanians reduce their household bills and ecological footprints and a platform for community groups to share their activities and develop new projects. Adopting sustainable living practices provides positive benefits to the environment, human health, household and business budgets and long term energy certainty and security. GET INVOLVED! Tamar NRM will work with community groups to develop Expo satellite projects/events in the lead up to the Expo. These satellite projects will empower people to come up with solutions to local sustainable living problems, e.g. working with the local Men’s Shed and schools on a design competition to reuse old pallets. These projects will help to promote the Expo whilst also facilitating the uptake of sustainable living practices across the Tamar Valley catchment.  COST- $5 adults, free for children under 18
