Theatre North at the Princess, in partnership with the University of Tasmania School of Creative Arts, are hosting a series of FREE workshops run by Circus Oz, ahead of their performance Circus Oz: Model Citizens – Launceston at the Princess Theatre on Wednesday 1 August, 7.30pm.

Celebrating their 40th year, Circus Oz are pleased to be able to offer these workshops where participants will learn and practice a range of circus skills and tricks, including Manipulation skills (such as juggling, devil sticks, diabolo, plate spinning, poi), Hula Hooping, Physical movement, Circus and Theatre games.

The workshops will be run by professional circus trainers Kyle Raftery and Karen Edelenbos, who have both had extensive experience with Circus Oz.

DURATION:
Each session runs for 1 hour

To celebrate Devonport Jazz, Devonport Council are hosting a winter edition of it’s popular Street Eats food truck festival featuring local food trucks and beverage vendors accompanied by local musicians playing a mixture of jazz, blues and soul.

A street parade will begin at 5.50pm featuring brass band musicians from across the coast. You are invited to decorate a lantern at the event and join in the street parade as it marches through Edward Street.

So get the family together and don your puffer jacket and a warm hat and see you at Devonport’s hottest mid-winter fiesta!

Friends of Jean Hearn and the Tamar Community Peace Trust are invited to reflect on the contribution and drive of the late Mrs Jean Hearn – who, over hundreds of cups of tea, inspired dozens of like-minded souls to be pro-active in supporting community initiatives to promote peace and goodwill.  There will be no charge to attend this Jean’s Tea Party.  Guests will be welcome to make a donation to support the work of the Peace Trust and development of the Peter Underwood Peace Garden.
