SOCA PRESENTS: THE PROMETHEUS PROJECT
October 13 – October 14 @ 7:30 pm | Brisbane Street Mall, Launceston – Free Entry
“What happens when all these things: electricity, technology, freedom, choice, convenience, what happens when they disappear”
The Ancient Greek myth of Prometheus has many parallels with today’s society in which we live, with ‘alternative facts’ and ‘fake news’ blinding our judgement and hiding the truth. The Prometheus Project, an original devised piece written in collaboration between the First Year students and scriptwriting classes at SOCA, explores themes of knowledge, conformity and exposing the truth in a unique combination of various theatre performance styles.
A first for Launceston audiences, The Prometheus Project will be performed in two locations; the Launceston CBD and Duck Reach at the Cataract Gorge, connected together by live streaming and modern drone technology.
