Some of the earliest carriage builders worked here, and via the Grand Prix races at Longford in the 1950’s and 60’s, and the global success of TargaTasmania the interest in all things cars has never waned.

December 08 @ 8:00 pm
Earl Arts Centre
10 Earl St, Launceston, Tas
The challenge is to write, cast, rehearse and perform seven new plays in 24 adrenalin filled hours.
Here's how it works: eight writers, eight directors, and a group of actors, plus production staff, assemble at the Earl Arts Centre on Friday December 7 at 6.30 pm. You are welcome to come along too!
We assign the writers with directors and casts and provide them with stimuli, not to help them stay awake, but to inform the creative process. This might be an object, a metaphor or something random that they need to weave into the script. This will be revealed on the night.
Writers then get writing, while directors and cast sleep anxiously awaiting an early start and the prospect of an unknown new script that must be rehearsed ready for an 8.00 pm show on Saturday 8 December.
It is a daunting challenge, and a white knuckle ride, but we haven't failed yet!
