DAINTY LEGEND CHINESE RESTAURANT
The long awaited and much anticipated opening of Dainty Legend Chinese Restaurant, is now imminent - well, just a few week away. RATIO CAFE
with EXTENDED OPENING HOURS & INDIAN & AUSSIE CUISINE - LATE NIGHTS
Ratio Café & Restaurant has opened in the 'ex-Sugar Shack' bakery location, on the outside of Morty's. The bakery sign is yet to come down but it will do, very soon.
Babu opened 'Welcome to Delhi' at Kings Meadows, at the Aamarpali venue & now that the old owners have returned, has relocated his business & renamed it Ratio Café.
Perfect for shift workers, late night revellers, early morning workers - Ratio is guaranteed to please with its excellent & varied menus. Choose from Indian or grab something off the Aussie Menu - breakfast, lunch, dinner & late night. And when I say late night, I mean REALLY late on the weekends - opening until 3am the following morning on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.
AND, the other bonus, it's LICENSED - oh, and did I tell you, the curries are to die for!
2 NEW EATERIES FOR KINGS MEADOWS & THE REOPENING OF ONE
Popular cafés in the Launceston CBD & Prospect, have opened up sister shops in Kings Meadows - Liv-eat & Lucky Bowl Chinese.
SAD NEWS
Sadly, 2 of Launceston's food spots are to close down.
- One close to my heart - Townsend's Bakery - this really is a devastating blow for Launceston residents. Leigh Townsend (affectionately known as 'Herbie') and his wife Debra, have decided to shut up shop after new rules & guidelines were placed on their business which frankly, makes it a no brainer for them to move on. We wish them the very, very best in their future endeavours, and let's just hope there's a few cream cakes, pies & lamingtons thrown into the mix!
- Fitzy's City Café - what an institution! After 46 years in business - it will be no longer from the middle of August, 2017! Read Zona May's report in the Examiner Newspaper.
And don't forget to buy your $5 ticket in the New Horizons Gourmet Gold Ticket - 6 fabulous dining experiences to be won valued to $290 each - plus a 6 pack of Sparkling Tassie Wine value $250.

When Aamarpali closed its doors a few months ago, Kings Meadows lost a really great Indian restaurant. The good news is, it reopened a couple of weeks ago, same owners & the same delicious, spicy Indian offerings that loyal fans missed so badly. Many profess it to be the best Indian in Launceston - which is a bold statement considering the fabulous choice of this cuisine here in town. We welcome comments and it might be just about time to find out the people's choice. Feel free to post your comments.
And, as per the post below proposed, Saigon Kitchen is up & running. Check out their details & menus at the Saigon Kitchen page.
