FREE EVENT – Commencing at 8.30am, the George Town Australia Day celebrations will commence with the Civic Reception and Community Breakfast. We invite the community to join with us as celebrate our great Nation, and give recognition to members of the community through the Australia Day Awards Presentations.

Special guest will be George Town’s Australia Day Ambassador Jo Palmer. FREE EVENT – The Bridport SLSC have a great program planned for the day with the traditional games, activities and competitions, as well as some of the new events introduced last year.
“Regular events like the jelly drop, sand castle competition, late for school race, the great boat race and more will be held as well as the newer events such as the 100 metre gift sprint, beach flags and the Bridport surf rowing teams.
“The regular stalls of Fish Care, Parks & Wildlife and the Bridport Fire Brigade will be present on the day, as well as a wide variety of food stalls, music and more,” Mr Arnold said.

Bands include Sydney Band No Brakes, and local Tassie talents The Brown Cords, and Kitty & The Riffs. The evening will culminate in a Fireworks display sponsored by Chilli FM and Xtreme Rides.
