TEMPURA MUSHROOMS OFF THE MENU AT FESTIVALE

There’ll be a wave of disappointment when patrons realise their much beloved favourite tempura mushrooms won’t be offered at this year’s Festivale.

TEMPURA MUSHROOMS ARE NO MORE

There’ll be a wave of disappointment when patrons realise their much beloved favourite tempura mushrooms won’t be offered at this year’s Festivale.

Stallholder John Caire placed a sign on his stall at the recent Taste of Tassie, explaining the situation.

It said:

“Tasmanian Tempura Mushrooms are no longer available. Both commercial mushroom farms were bought by a giant Australian company, and they have now shut both farms, so all commercial mushrooms in Tasmania are from the mainland.  The TASTE and all other festivals are all about Tasmanian produce.  We have been featuring Tasmanian tempura vegetables for the last 5 years along with the mushrooms at festivals, they have been popular and are grown by Harvest Moon of Spreyton.  THE FABULOUS TEMPURA TASMANIAN VEGETABLES “are even better”  HAVE A FREE TASTE!”

Renamed Fabulous Tempura Vegetables, the stall was a huge success at the TASTE and expects to continue its popularity at Festivale 2020.

Expect offerings of tempura battered broccoli, onion rings, cauliflower, green beans, pumpkins & carrots julienne.
