ABOUT THE HAMMONDS:
“The Hammond Family are fourth generation fisher folk.
Founder, John Hammond and his wife Jill have a long history of fishing around Flinders Island. Originally based at Lady Barron in the south-eastern corner of the island, John mainly targeted crayfish, giant crab and scallops. John started with his dad on the Arlie D in about 1960 to 1962.
Today he leaves the fishing to John Jnr, his son, but his passion and presence means he is always on hand when required.
For 20 years John has dreamt of selling fish directly to the public and today is when the dream, hard work and determination pays off.”
