Bread & Butter is a small Batch Cultured Butter Factory by Tasmanian Butter Co – Handcrafted Pastries and Sourdough Bread – Filter & Espresso Coffee Bar.
Whilst I don’t disagree that service can be aloof / hit and miss – the bread based products are fantastic. Pastries ok, but it’s the bread you go for. From the loaves to the filled baguettes, the fruit toasts with the wonderful butter; all are excellent. It also fills a gap in the ‘quick eats’ market in Launceston, which isn’t really developed. It’s a perfect grab and go lunch or breakfast.
This place is lovely, but the staff were the worst. Felt like everything was too much hassle and no one could really be bothered even taking our order.
If the attitudes change, we’ll be back. If not, I’ll support elsewhere.
Been here 3 times now – and whilst I agree with the other reviewers that the menu is limited, and staff quite aloof, the quality of what they do have (I feel especially bread based more so than pastry based) is excellent and the coffee very good too. Fantastic for a lunchtime roll / gourmet toastie / Coffee. Will continue to return!
Good pastries, good venue, poor attitudes towards customers at counter also when serving at tables. Must engage and understand that paying customers are the lifeline of the business rather than an attitude that they are doing us a favour. Potential if prepared to understand simple business principles and customer expectations.
Was sadly under-whelmed for a lunch at 13.15. Very limited choice, service @counter was bored, & un helpful…Ham roll – small piece of meat, half of it being the fat & rind. Peppermint tea – 8 mint leaves in hot water. Hopefully it is early days & can review available menu, choice & engaging better with customers.

Excellent, although can be quite busy.
Excellent breads!

Constructive criticism. Good luck.
