We nearly stuffed up the ‘eating’ part – as differing opinions came into play. There were only 2 places we hadn’t experienced from the good variety Beauty Point has to offer, and one was the Beauty Point Waterfront Hotel. Despite arriving at 1.55pm, we were greeted warmly and were advised that we could be accommodated. BONUS!
The Beauty Point Waterfront Hotel changed hands earlier in the year – something I wasn’t aware of – but for those who are, I’m sure you will have noticed a positive change.
We usually avoid places & pubs with gaming facilities, for obvious & not so obvious reasons. The Gaming Room is almost hidden from eye so it was a pleasant change to be able to relax without being disrupted or annoyed by the constant sound of bells & whistles of ‘winning spins’ AND, despite having Keno facilities, the tables weren’t littered with pamphlets, pencils & tickets waiting to be filled out.
Back to the food – wow, fresh local seafood. Calamari freshly cut into long strips (chilli crumbed for me), totally melt in the mouth – cooked to perfection.
My choice was a duo of Calamari & Fish – the fish component being Flinders Island Gummy Shark. I specifically requested it pan fried, which wasn’t a problem at all. All the seafood on the menu was local, including scallops & Aussie prawns. This certainly impressed, as did the prices.
Complete with a fresh, crisp salad, some coleslaw, lemon & tartare sauce (usually comes with chips as well, but I requested no chips) – $22 … wow, that’s great value!
With the added attraction of alfresco waterfront seating – this place is bound to become a favourite for easy, relaxing, casual eating – such a serene & tranquil outlook.
Thanks to Vicki for fabulous service & attention.
We will be back!
